Thank you everybody for being forth coming with the issues that are popping up. I want to let everybody know what we have fixed so far.
Attachments are now uploading and printing.
“Forgot my Password” is now working.
Exports now have data in them.
The “Treatment Log” should be saved by clicking “Create New Treatment Log” and can also be saved by clicking “Update Patient” at the bottom of the screen.
Pagination in List View allows you to skip to the end.
Prescriptions are not making everything a Controlled Substance on the List of Prescriptions.
You can now have the “Search Rescuers Tab” default on the “Create New Patient” page.
With the new Date Picker there are some differences. You may notice that when recording the “Date Admitted” different then “Now” you have to click out of the box to move on. This is because there is a good chance that if you are creating a new patient at a later time, the time admitted will not be the same time as “Now”, so the box can’t automatically retract. If you press enter on this screen, that signifies you want to submit the whole page. We will research if there is any way we can improve.
“Autocomplete” has had an attitude adjustment and is working better.
Other new features we didn’t tell you about
For Autocomplete there is a new feature. In “Settings” under “Autocomplete” the default is set to allow for multiple Autocompletes or you can change it to just allow for one. For Example in “Reason for Admission” you can select Hit Window, Cat Caught – or – for “City Found” you can have it so that you can only select one.
We have created a new feature called Authorizations. Within “Settings” if you have access, you will see an “Authorizations” link. We have defaulted these features to certain “Roles”. You can now change the Authorizations of the entire Role or you can change an Individuals “Authorizations” by going to “Users and Staff” and clicking on the “Edit” icon associated with that persons name.
We are still working on some of the more complicated issue that have come up. Thank you again and Happy New Year!!!
We wanted to give some insight into how we receive and act on the comments and suggestions you send to us. To get in touch with us, I know that many of our users use the In-WRMD messaging system and some prefer email. All of the messages go to the same place, so please use whatever works for you. It is our goal to answer every message within 24 hours, so if you do not receive some sort of reply in less then 48 hrs, please feel free to message us again.
The bulk of our correspondence is question based. We are usually able to respond to most questions fairly quickly. Some questions may take a little time and research before we can answer. Currently we are in the process of redeveloping our Help Section which we hope to make more useful. Most of the common questions we get asked can be found in our FAQ’s, tutorials or in our Blog.
Much of the other correspondence we receive is related to “something went wrong” and “how do I fix it?” In these cases, we need to ask for exact details. While troubleshooting the issue, we try to recreate the event so that we can determine whether we need to fix something or if it could have been user error. In the case that it is an issue with WRMD, we will fix it, but first we prioritize it. We prioritize generally on the ease of the fix, then on the vitalness of the item that needs to get fixed.
It works like this: a bug that is not allowing you to print a record or duplicate a record, we make a high priority. If the bug is an inconvenience that can be lived with for awhile then it will be prioritized and fixed as soon as we are able.
Another type of inquiry we get is about requests for new features. A new feature is an add-on to the program, such as a new report or an idea for an additional extension. Features are usually added when all the bugs are fixed. An appropriate field that has been asked for many times and or just seems like a good idea will be developed more quickly. If it is a neat idea but will take a lot of work, well… that may not get done within 6 months to a year, at least this year due to WRMD 3.0 still getting off the ground.
We value all of your comments, and take all of your comments seriously. The most difficult part for us is notifying you when your issue or suggestions has been completed. While we do try to notify individuals, it does not happen all the time. The best option is to keep checking every once in awhile to see if it has been done. Generally in Blogs, we try to notify everybody of minor changes and additions to WRMD, but sometimes we miss something.

Important: When you transfer animals the system is currently sending 3 messages out for one patient. We are working on this but it is still happening. So, be very careful when you accept patients and don’t accept the same patient number more then once. We will try to resolve this ASAP!

Note: Keep in mind every time we add something new it might itself be slightly buggy. You are our eyes in WRMD and we rely on you guys, our community, to tell us when something needs to get fixed.

Discussions we have had and decided against changing:
When and animal is Dispositioned out of pending it will still show up on Rechecks: Yes it will do this because many times carcasses have rechecks, if we defaulted to no rechecks for non-pending you could never have a recheck on a carcass. Just end the recheck if needed.
Notes about rescuer always repopulate when you choose an existing rescuer: Yes it will do this because these are notes about that person not about anything that has to do with the patient or its release. With that said, we do agree we need to have a better way to identify rescuers that want to be part of release, it should not go in Notes though.
We would like to thank everybody for being patient while we launched WRMD 3.0. The first week was full of communication and it was great for us to get to know our users a little more. Our favorite part was when some of our users such as Marita at High Desert in Bend, Oregon and Lucinda at Bird Ally X in Humboldt, CA started to answer other users questions! Thank you, it saved me so much time. As you can see we now have more of a forum space within the message area. You can choose a message to be private or open to forum. When you have a question, if you phrase the title well, others that have similar questions can look at the message string and get answers and talk to one another. We don’t expect this to turn into Facebook, but it is a way for rehabbers all over the world to easily talk to one another. We also want to thank all of the very active users for their help and communications, we think you know who you are – Paula, Dorothy, Cristin, Marita, Lucinda and many others. Thank you for all of your updates!!!
There Were Several Little Issue Here and There that We Have Updated
The sign-in issue: when we transferred to the new database everybody had to reset their passwords. Unfortunately we also had a bug with resetting passwords. So, if you created a new password you were able to get into your account, but once you signed out you could not sign back in because your new password did not actually get update. Sorry about that!
At first when you signed-in you were in 2016, when you went to look at 2015, you could not get back into 2016 without signing off and signing back on. This is now fixed as well.
There was an issue with time as well. Everything was in UTC 0, which was London time for the first few days. So, anything that was recorded during those days will have the wrong time, but everything is fixed now.
There was a minor issue with how the treatment records were organized oldest to newest and even if you changed it in settings, it was reverting, but that got fixed.
The lab was not taking info at first, that got fixed.
I could go on for awhile here. Suffice to say that we have been working hard, and are grateful for your patience while we work out the kinks.
The “People” section is updated so that you can better manage your rescuers, volunteers and donors.
Hopefully you have been able to figure out how to navigate through the years. On the bottom left of the screen there is an option for the year you wish to look at. If you want to do searches that include 2015 and 2016 you need to go to “Search Records”, put in your dates and search that way. If you just want to look at pending cases only, you can do the “Quick Search”|”Disposition Pending” and that will give you results for all years. If you enter terms into quick search it will only search the year you are in.
We hope that everybody is getting used to the new Locations feature. One thing to remember is that, anything from previous years might not be completely accurate. Everything got transferred over, but it might not be in the correct format. There is not much we can do about this, unfortunately. Also, when you change the disposition to any but Pending the location will blank. So, if you have animals in freezers or out for testing you should record it in the location field as well as rechecks or keywords. The location, however, will remain in the history.
Due to the nature of managing this database we have had to reduce the number of custom fields that can be created per account to 10. If you have more then 10 custom fields you will not be able to enter new info into any fields created after the first 10 that were created. If you require more than 10 custom fields, please contact us about potentially creating a custom extension for your organization. Because of the time and resources involved with custom extensions we will charge a fee, on a sliding scale, depending on how extensive the customization is.
